**Overview**
Equinix, the world's digital infrastructure company®, is looking for a Site Planning Engineer to join our Network & Infrastructure Engineering (N&IE) team in Toronto. You'll play a pivotal role in planning, designing, and delivering physical data center capacity including space, power, and layout optimization across our global infrastructure. This position is essential to advancing Next Generation Network (NGN) initiatives with primary emphasis on the AMER data center environment.

Responsibilities **
• Plan, design, and validate data center layouts for maximum space and power efficiency • Manage ticket-based requests through Jira for IBX sites, encompassing capacity additions and new power installations • Evaluate project tickets to identify capacity additions versus new rack deployments • Create, update, and maintain technical documentation including cage layouts, rack elevations, and power design drawings • Track and manage internal orders for space and power requirements • Partner with Engineering Teams, Capacity Management, and IBX Operations to execute projects within established timelines • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders for technical validation and training coordination • Focus on planned projects with emphasis on proactive planning and precision • Provide accurate power and space solutions prioritizing quality and standardization • Champion process improvement initiatives to boost project efficiency and documentation standards
**
Requirements **
• Hands-on experience with data center physical infrastructure, including equipment racking/stacking, airflow management, and structured cabling standards • Solid grasp of rack power distribution including single-phase and three-phase circuits, redundant (A/B) feeds, and PDU load balancing • Knowledge of receptacle types, voltage/current ratings, and high-density environment applications • Ability to read and interpret power distribution and layout diagrams
Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM (full-time)
