Responsibilities : As a pivotal member of the Networking team within our Cloud Infrastructure organization, you will play a crucial role in managing the comprehensive Airbnb production network infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing, building, and maintaining software solutions that facilitate connections among Airbnb users and services, which encompass traffic proxies, load balancers, service meshes, and more. - Ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our network systems, catering to our diverse global user base. - Collaborating with talented engineers on innovative cloud-native networking technologies from Layer 3 to Layer 7. - Leading significant infrastructure projects such as global traffic load balancing, disaster recovery strategies, and advancements in edge security. - Engaging with the open-source community and peer companies to address large-scale cloud-native engineering challenges.
Requirements : To succeed in this role, you should have: - Extensive experience in software engineering, particularly within cloud networking environments. - Proficiency in working with open-source technologies, especially Kubernetes and Istio. - Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset to work alongside various teams. - A passion for designing and implementing secure, efficient systems that enhance user experiences.
