About the Team

The Data Transformation team is at the forefront of creating and managing batch and real-time transformation pipelines that support over 400 product teams within Stripe. Our goal is to simplify data development and management processes, focusing on delivering high-quality datasets that are crucial for analytics, dashboards, and workflows. The products developed by this team have gained significant traction, with over 800 active users weekly, greatly enhancing productivity for data-oriented developers. Currently, the team is in an exciting phase of innovation, working on priority initiatives that include streaming transformation, incremental processing, and intuitive data modeling.

We empower a diverse range of users—from Data Scientists to Engineers—enabling them to craft outstanding experiences with Stripe products while offering a robust platform for essential dashboarding, analytics, and workflows, including user-facing reporting solutions like Sigma and Radar. Our technology stack includes a blend of open-source solutions and proprietary software designed for optimal scalability, reliability, and usability, utilizing tools such as Spark, Airflow, Iceberg, Hive, S3, SQL, Python, Scala, GRPC, Kafka, and FlinkSQL.

Responsibilities

As the Engineering Manager for the Data Transformation team, you will guide a talented group of engineers, collaborate closely with infrastructure and product engineering teams, and help drive the strategic roadmap for Data Transformation at Stripe. Your leadership will be essential in executing key initiatives that prioritize the delivery of high-quality, materialized datasets for Stripe's products and AI agents.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Developing scalable infrastructure and services that prioritize reliability and efficiency
• Leading and mentoring a dedicated team of engineers, offering guidance and support to ensure their growth and success
• Collaborating with high-visibility teams and stakeholders to support critical engineering initiatives
• Identifying user needs and challenges to prioritize engineering tasks and deliver exceptional solutions

Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM (full-time)
