Commercial Counsel Opportunity in Singapore at Stripe

Responsibilities : In this pivotal role, you will: - Provide essential support to the APAC Sales team by spearheading negotiations for intricate and strategic agreements. - Offer expert advice on diverse commercial and legal matters, including the launch of new products and international expansion efforts. - Play a key role in developing Stripe's commercial legal framework to ensure we can scale efficiently alongside our impressive growth. This involves drafting and refining Stripe’s agreements and playbooks, leading initiatives to enhance internal processes, and utilizing AI tools to improve collaboration with clients and partners. - Collaborate with various teams across Stripe, including sales, operations, product, tax, and risk management, to ensure seamless operations. - Contribute to the team’s efficiency and scalability, working within a global framework to amplify the impact of the Commercial Legal team. - Create and provide training resources to empower the Sales team in effectively promoting our products. - Serve as a key contact for outside counsel on escalated matters.

Requirements : The ideal candidate will possess: - A strong intellectual curiosity and a knack for creative problem-solving, thriving in the ever-evolving landscape of Stripe’s products and industry challenges. - A proactive, self-starter attitude with a firm sense of ownership. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to simplify complex issues and articulate key risks. - Natural collaboration abilities to guide cross-functional teams toward mutually beneficial solutions. - Familiarity with the legal and commercial risks associated with hosted data and technology services. - A team-oriented mindset, willing to contribute to collective achievements. - A valid law degree or equivalent qualification in at least one APAC jurisdiction.
