We are seeking a talented Backend Staff Software Engineer to join our Global Markets Tech team in China, where your technical expertise will help enhance our international guest experiences.
Responsibilities : As a key player in our team, you will: - Lead the technical vision for Airbnb’s international initiatives, focusing on the architecture, prototyping, development, and deployment of solutions tailored for diverse markets, including market configuration, localization services, and compliance-aware experiences. - Direct complex projects from conception to launch, overseeing team roadmaps, technical direction, migration strategies, and ensuring long-term operability. - Champion engineering excellence by prioritizing reliability, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness in all solutions. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, driving alignment on roadmaps, resolving trade-offs, and navigating through ambiguity to meet local market demands. - Mentor fellow engineers, sharing knowledge and fostering growth within the team and beyond.
Requirements : To be successful in this role, you will need: - Fluency in English; proficiency in Japanese or Korean is a plus. - A minimum of 9 years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on backend development. - A proven track record of leading technical projects, with a focus on scalable solutions and international market adaptation. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
