RF Engineer - 4G/5G & DAS Design Specialist (Halifax)

YRH Inc. seeks dedicated RF Engineers to join our dynamic team in Halifax, focusing on cutting-edge 4G/5G cellular networks and Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). This permanent opportunity offers the chance to work on innovative telecommunications projects while collaborating with major cellular operators in the region. Engineers Nova Scotia membership required.

Responsibilities **

Reporting to the Engineering Manager or Customer Project Manager, you'll spearhead RF and cellular system design initiatives including DAS deployments. Your expertise will drive network analysis, requirements definition, and advanced simulations using InfoVista Planet, IBWave, and Ekahau platforms. You'll architect passive/active DAS solutions, small cells, and develop link budgets for LTE, 5G-NR, and Wi-Fi networks.

Additional duties encompass designing private cellular networks for Industry 4.0 applications, creating CAPEX/OPEX estimates, drafting technical specifications, and conducting quality audits. Field work includes coverage measurements through walk-tests and drive-tests across the Halifax region.

Requirements **

Candidates must hold an Electrical or Computer Engineering degree from an accredited institution and maintain Engineers Nova Scotia membership. We seek professionals with 5-8 years of RF domain experience, particularly in LTE, LTE+, 5G-NR, and Wi-Fi technologies. Maritime market knowledge and experience with modeling tools (InfoVista Planet, Ekahau, IBWave) are essential.

Understanding of interference mitigation, Safety Code 6, microwave/fiber interconnection, and project management skills are valued. Strong communication abilities, self-motivation, and willingness to travel within Halifax region required.
