**Overview**
The Department of Defense seeks experienced retail professionals to manage commissary operations across Multiple
Location s. This federal position offers opportunities at GS-9 through GS-12 levels, providing career advancement in military retail food service management.

Responsibilities **
• Oversee daily operations of commissary stores serving military families and personnel • Apply retail procurement and distribution strategies to ensure optimal inventory management • Implement food merchandising principles and techniques to maximize customer satisfaction • Supervise departments including grocery, meat, produce, and front-end operations • Develop and enforce operational policies, procedures, and standards • Provide expert guidance on merchandising decisions and operational improvements • Plan and standardize processes across assigned retail locations • Stay current with commercial retail food industry trends and equipment

Requirements **
**For GS-9, 10, 11:** Meet qualifications through specialized experience, education, or combination. Specialized experience includes managing commissary stores, supermarkets, or similar retail food establishments; managing retail food store departments; or developing retail food policies and procedures.
**For GS-12:** Must have required specialized experience only (education cannot substitute).
**
Experience Examples:** Managing commercial retail food stores, planning multi-store operations, providing technical merchandising advice, or developing retail operational standards.
**
Education :** Relevant coursework in food retail management, on-the-job training, internships, or practicums may qualify. Transcripts required when using education for qualification.
All qualifying experience counts, including volunteer work through National Service programs. Resume must clearly demonstrate meeting grade-level requirements by announcement closing date.
Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM (full-time)
