Our team, averaging in their 30s, operates entirely remotely and is dedicated to executing a seamless migration from Ruby on Rails to a cutting-edge Next.js/React/TypeScript stack.
We're focused on building a modern product with new features while ensuring we do it right from the ground up.
Responsibilities : As a Product Owner, you will take charge of our platform migration and continuous product enhancement. Your role will serve as the crucial link between the management team and development, empowering you to make key decisions rather than simply passing them along. Specific tasks include: - Steering the migration process by determining what features will be migrated, prioritizing tasks effectively, and managing timelines. - Creating and maintaining the product backlog, writing clear requirements, and ensuring the development team is always informed about upcoming tasks. - Conducting product acceptance tests and verifying results against functional, regulatory, and UX requirements. - Acting as the liaison for management, translating business needs into actionable work packages while safeguarding the team against scope creep. - Collaborating with the design team (currently in development) to ensure design guidelines are practical and cohesive. - Implementing structure within a rapidly growing team without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy, focusing on lean processes suitable for a small team.
Requirements : We are looking for a candidate with: - Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, preferably in a startup, agency, or fast-paced environment. - A track record of navigating simultaneous projects while maintaining focus. -
Experience in overseeing at least one migration, relaunch, or greenfield project, with an understanding of potential pitfalls. - A focus on outcomes rather than outputs, always questioning whether we are solving real problems before considering backlogs. - Technical familiarity; while coding is not required, an understanding of APIs, the complexities of data migrations, and the relationship between design systems and development speed is essential. - A strong affinity for AI, as our development process heavily integrates AI tools like Claude and Cursor. While you don’t need to operate these tools, you should comprehend their potential and speed implications. If you are passionate about building rather than managing, this is the role for you.
