Responsibilities **
As our Platform Engineer, you'll architect and implement next-generation secure research environments across AWS and GCP cloud platforms. Your core focus will be developing scalable platform capabilities, creating standardized deployment patterns, and ensuring seamless transitions to SysOps teams for production management. Key duties include designing infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform, building reusable reference architectures for SAFE deployments, and supporting scientific computing platforms like RStudio, Jupyter, and MATLAB in secure multi-user settings.
You'll enable reproducible research workflows through tools like DataLad and Apptainer, while optimizing performance for CPU, GPU, memory, and I/O operations across machine learning and data-intensive workloads.

Requirements **
We're seeking a platform design specialist who excels at creating multi-tenant, multi-environment systems with robust isolation boundaries. You should have expertise in cloud resource organization strategies, storage optimization, and high-throughput file systems.
Experience with cost management, governance frameworks, and supporting GPU-enabled research environments is essential. The ideal candidate thrives in a remote work environment while contributing to innovative solutions that push the boundaries of research data management technology.
