Payments Software Engineer - Remote USA at Airbnb

Our Payments division operates a world-class platform processing billions of dollars across 191 countries and 75 currencies through complex partner ecosystems. As a Software Engineer on our Payments Post Transaction Risk Engineering team, you'll design scalable systems and robust infrastructure to combat disputes and chargebacks while protecting Airbnb's financial integrity.

**Responsibilities:**

• Architect and maintain service-oriented technology stacks with well-defined APIs that prioritize modularity, observability, and efficiency
• Partner closely with data scientists, product managers, and cross-functional teams to generate business insights, create product features, and counter fraud attacks
• Build and sustain integrations with third-party vendors, payment networks, and processors to strengthen internal chargeback defense capabilities
• Design and refine dispute and chargeback prevention strategies that adapt to evolving risk scenarios and business needs
• Implement continuous monitoring and alerting systems to enhance quality and visibility across risk management platforms
