Responsibilities **
Depending on grade level, you'll handle diverse accounting functions including managing financial transactions across accounts payable, cost accruals, travel, payroll, and property systems. You'll conduct comprehensive data analysis and reconciliation while identifying process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and generate cost savings. Higher-level responsibilities include broad operational accounting and financial management, interpreting complex financial data, and conducting research to address various accounting inquiries.
Senior-level duties involve financial data analysis using GAAP and governmental accounting standards from GAO, OMB, and Treasury, plus supporting NASA's financial audits and internal control reviews.

Requirements **
GS-11: One year specialized experience equivalent to GS-09 level, OR completed doctoral degree in appropriate field, OR three years progressive graduate education toward Ph.D. GS-12: One year specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 level performing operational accounting, data analysis, and reconciliation. GS-13: One year specialized experience equivalent to GS-12 level including GAAP/governmental accounting practices, audit support, and corrective action implementation using NASA's accounting systems.
