As the Lead IT Operations Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stable, secure, and scalable operation of our entirely cloud-based IT environment.
Responsibilities In this strategic position, you will standardize and automate key IT operations processes within our cloud-only setup, including platforms like M365 and Azure. Your daily tasks will involve planning, implementing, and managing complex M365/Azure configurations, focusing on security and access management. You will handle incident, problem, and change management in accordance with ITIL practices and address security incidents related to EDR and M365 Defender.
As a technical lead in projects, you will also support the deputy responsibilities for the Head of Information Systems in specific areas. Your ability to analyze complex issues, devise effective solutions, and document processes clearly will be essential.
Requirements To succeed in this role, you should have several years of experience in IT operations, particularly within complex system environments. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Azure, including intricate configurations and security aspects, is necessary. You should be comfortable with ITIL-based processes, perform thorough incident analyses, and maintain a service-oriented mindset.
Familiarity with IT security operations (e.g., EDR, Defender, compliance) is a plus. Strong communication, documentation, and knowledge-sharing skills are vital, along with automation skills (scripting, workflows, M365 automation) or early experience with AI-driven tools.
Experience with cloud-only models, networking basics, disaster recovery, or previous senior/lead roles will enhance your application. Fluency in German (C1) and good English skills (B2) are required.
