**Overview**
The Department of Transportation seeks a skilled Lead General Engineer to oversee complex multi-site engineering initiatives across various locations. This leadership role combines technical expertise with project management excellence, focusing on electronics and electrical systems within Air Traffic Control environments.

Responsibilities **
• Plan, coordinate, and manage engineering projects from inception through successful completion across multiple sites • Identify and allocate necessary resources while maintaining project schedules and tracking progress • Apply electronics and electrical engineering principles to design, construct, install, and test sophisticated systems • Conduct troubleshooting and commissioning of electronics equipment at Air Traffic Control Tower and Terminal Radar Approach Control Facilities (ATCT/TRACON) • Ensure project deliverables meet Department of Transportation standards and regulatory requirements

Requirements **
• Professional engineering degree from ABET-accredited program, OR curriculum including differential/integral calculus plus advanced coursework in five of seven specified engineering science areas (statics/dynamics, materials strength, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, electrical fields/circuits, materials properties, or comparable fundamental engineering/physics subjects) • Alternative qualifications accepted: current PE registration, passed EIT examination, or equivalent academic/degree combinations • Minimum one year specialized experience equivalent to FV-I or GS/FG-13 level • Demonstrated expertise in multi-site engineering project coordination, resource management, and completion tracking • Proven experience applying electronics/electrical engineering principles in ATCT/TRACON facility environments • Strong background in system design, installation, testing, and commissioning
