We operate as a fully remote team of around 200 talented individuals, including engineers and AI researchers, many of whom hail from prestigious backgrounds like Amazon, Microsoft, and Stanford.
Responsibilities We are currently seeking a dedicated Software Engineer to enhance our Data team within the AI division at Speechify. In this role, you will be pivotal in managing the entire data collection process that underpins our model training initiatives. Your expertise will help us create high-quality datasets at an unprecedented scale and efficiency through seamless integration of infrastructure and engineering practices.
Key responsibilities include: - Discovering new audio data sources and integrating them into our ingestion pipeline. - Managing and expanding our existing cloud infrastructure on GCP, utilizing Terraform for effective management. - Collaborating with our Scientists to optimize data cost, throughput, and quality to elevate our models. - Working alongside the AI Team and Speechify Leadership to develop a comprehensive dataset roadmap for our next-generation products.
Requirements The ideal candidate will possess: - A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline. - A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience. - Proficiency in bash/Python scripting within Linux environments. - Familiarity with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code principles, along with hands-on experience with a major Cloud Provider, preferably GCP. -
Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is advantageous. - Strong multitasking abilities and adaptability to changing priorities. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
