**Overview**
The Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team in Jacksonville, Florida. This GS-07 position offers the opportunity to serve our nation's Veterans while advancing your pharmaceutical career in a supportive federal environment.

Responsibilities **
You'll play a vital role in medication management and patient care, including: • Operating automated dispensing systems to fill, order, and deliver medications • Providing exceptional technical customer service to Veterans regarding prescription needs • Preparing medications for pharmacist review and verification • Monitoring inventory levels and identifying medication reorder requirements • Preparing sterile products when applicable, following strict safety protocols • Managing phone communications with appropriate follow-up actions • Training developmental pharmacy technicians and students • Troubleshooting automated dispensing equipment and technology platforms • Collaborating with healthcare team members to resolve medication-related issues • Ensuring compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures for safe medication distribution

Requirements **
• U.S. citizenship required (non-citizens considered only when qualified citizens unavailable) • Proficiency in spoken and written English per 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d) • Minimum 1 year experience equivalent to GS-6 level in pharmacy operations • Active national certification: PTCP as CPhT OR NHA as ExCPT • Strong knowledge of pharmacy technician principles, practices, and computerized prescription processes • Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail •
Experience with automated dispensing equipment and pharmacy databases
Applicants completing educational or certification requirements may receive tentative selection but cannot be hired until all requirements are fulfilled. Current VHA employees may qualify under Grandfathering Provisions per VA Qualification Standards.
Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM (full-time)
