Location : Berlin, Germany | Employment Type: Full-time | Office-centric Team Overview: Join SumUp's AI AML Engineering team, a vital part of our Risk & Compliance division. We are dedicated to developing innovative data products and engineering solutions that safeguard millions of small businesses against financial crime. Our flagship initiative, the Risk Decision Center (RDC), also known as SumUp Sentinel, aims to automate a significant portion of fraud and AML case investigations.
For this ambitious project to succeed, we require a robust data foundation, and thatβs where you come in.
Responsibilities : - Develop and manage production-grade Python data pipelines that facilitate AI-driven decision-making and near real-time analytics in both the Risk Decision Center and SAR Studio. - Take charge of data quality from start to finish: create validations, implement monitoring, set up alerting systems, and establish clear service level agreements (SLAs) so that analysts, data scientists, and AI systems can depend on the information presented. - Construct and oversee scalable regulatory reporting pipelines, ensuring complete audit trails, version control, and reproducible outputs for both routine submissions and ad-hoc regulator inquiries. - Define and document our data architecture, dataset ownership, and lineage, minimizing knowledge silos and enhancing operational efficiency within the team. - Collaborate intensively with the Data Platform and a diverse group of data scientists, ML engineers, software engineers, and analysts to ensure safe deployment in production.
Requirements : - Strong expertise in Python data engineering, including a proven history of building and managing scalable pipelines in production settings. - Solid SQL and data modeling capabilities, coupled with a commitment to maintaining high data quality: experience in establishing standards, writing validations, and ensuring data integrity at scale. - Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, EKS, Athena, or Keyspaces, along with proficiency in containers (Docker), version control (Git), and API design. - Ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder environments while managing competing priorities and ensuring critical tasks remain on schedule. - Comfort in handling ambiguity and changing deadlines without compromising data dependability or accuracy.
