Energy Trading Trainee Opportunity in Munich - VISPIRON GmbH

Overview: Join VISPIRON GmbH as a Trainee Short-Term Energy Trader in Munich and become part of a pioneering team that leverages AI-driven trading platforms. Our mission is to optimize the marketing and economic utilization of energy by connecting solar power systems, green energy storage, charging infrastructure, and electricity trading into intelligent portfolios and hybrid power plants. With over 350 MWp of solar energy, 100 MWp of wind, and 100 MWh of storage already managed, we aim to enhance transparency, efficiency, and innovative revenue models for our clients.

Responsibilities : In this role, you will capitalize on short-term market volatility in the Day-Ahead and Intraday markets, effectively deploying battery energy storage systems (BESS) and other flexibilities. Your tasks will include: - Operational Trading: Execute orders in the Day-Ahead and Intraday markets, employing order book tactics and quickly rebalancing before gate closure. - Flex/BESS Dispatch: Develop schedules, manage state of charge (SoC), and account for degradation and roundtrip costs. - Algorithmic Trading: Safely utilize, parameterize, and operate algorithmic trading strategies such as signal, spread, and rebalancing algorithms, while working in shadow, safe mode, and A/B testing environments. - Forecast Utilization: Collaborate with wind, PV, and load forecasts, identify forecast drift, and implement appropriate countermeasures. - Risk & Compliance: Adhere strictly to limits, follow REMIT and exchange regulations, and ensure comprehensive audit logs. - Post-Trade & Learning: Maintain trade journals, analyze PnL attribution and error types, and continuously refine hypotheses and playbooks. - Desk Enablement: Maintain checklists, runbooks, and simulation drills, providing structured feedback to Data and IT regarding feeds, latencies, and algorithm parameters.

Requirements : To excel in this position, you should possess a solid foundation in statistics and probabilities, enabling you to enhance your trading edge reliably. Your success will be measured by your DA Alpha and Intraday Alpha performance, with clear benchmarks to guide your achievements.
