Responsibilities : As the Director of Corporate Counsel - AI Compliance, you will spearhead the enterprise AI Compliance Program, ensuring that the development, procurement, deployment, and utilization of AI-driven products and services align with legal and ethical standards. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading and managing the evolution of Thermo Fisher's Responsible AI Framework, ensuring compliance with corporate and business requirements. - Providing strategic legal guidance on AI technologies while mitigating associated risks in a highly regulated environment. - Collaborating closely with global business units and corporate functions to foster innovation while maintaining compliance with AI and data protection regulations. - Managing a team of two direct reports and influencing stakeholders across a complex matrix organization. - Anticipating emerging legal issues and proactively addressing them to avoid potential business challenges.

Requirements : To be successful in this role, you should possess: - A minimum of 10 years of experience in legal, compliance, privacy, technology law, or AI governance, with a focus on advising in the realms of AI and digital innovation. - In-depth knowledge of global AI and data protection frameworks, including the EU AI Act and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework. - Proven track record in building and leading compliance and governance programs in a global setting, alongside the ability to create practical guidance and processes. - Strong leadership skills with experience in cross-functional collaboration across different time zones and business units. - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders effectively. - Advanced proficiency in English, and knowledge in additional languages or experience in life sciences, healthcare, or technology sectors will be an advantage.
