📋 Job Description

Overview: Join the Zentrum für verfolgte Künste, a unique museum dedicated to artists whose creative expression has been hindered, suppressed, or destroyed by the totalitarian regimes of the 20th century and beyond. Our mission focuses on preserving and showcasing the works of these artists through the "Bürgerstiftung für verfolgte Künste – Else-Lasker-Schüler-Zentrum – Kunstsammlung Gerhard Schneider". We delve into visual art and literature that reflect the political and social changes from 1914 to 1989, while also embracing performing arts such as music, film, theater, and cabaret.

Based in Solingen and supported by the Landschaftsverband Rheinland, we collaborate internationally with museums, universities, and educational institutions, initiating research projects, hosting exhibitions, and facilitating dialogue between historical witnesses, future generations, academia, and the public. The museum operates as a non-profit GmbH, with the Director also serving as the Managing Director, and currently employs 12 staff members.

Responsibilities : We are looking for an Administrative Manager to join our team on a part-time basis (19 hours per week). This position is permanent, with potential project-based funding allowing a temporary increase to full-time for the years 2027 and 2028, with hopes for an extension. The Administrative Manager will oversee and support the key administrative functions of the organization, including: - Strategic and operational management of all administrative processes - Financial accounting, budget planning, budget control, and reporting in close coordination with tax consultancy - Oversight of human resource management, including contract management and payroll - Organizational preparation and execution of supervisory board meetings and shareholder assemblies alongside the Director - Administrative support for events, scientific collaborations, and academic teaching formats - Managing foundations and support associations associated with the center, as well as involvement in grant applications and third-party projects - Building and maintaining institutional partnerships with universities, art academies, and other collaborators.

Requirements : The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen, combining analytical precision with organizational expertise. You should have: - A completed degree in administration, business management, cultural management, or a related field - Several years of professional experience in a commercial or administrative role - Comprehensive knowledge in financial management and HR - A structured, self-reliant, and solution-oriented working style - Excellent German language skills (C2) along with negotiation proficiency.
