Senior Staff Accountant - Department of Treasury (Multiple Locations)

**Overview**

The Department of the Treasury seeks a skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our team across multiple locations. This GS-13 level position offers the opportunity to drive accounting excellence within federal operations while leading key initiatives and enhancing operational efficiency.

**Responsibilities**

In this role, you will evaluate and enhance existing accounting processes to maximize operational effectiveness. You'll take charge of leading cross-functional project teams and work groups, providing guidance and direction to achieve departmental objectives. Additionally, you'll leverage advanced Excel capabilities to develop sophisticated spreadsheets for data compilation and account reconciliation purposes, ensuring accuracy and streamlined reporting processes.

**Requirements**

Candidates must fulfill all qualification criteria within 30 days of the announcement's closing date. We welcome experience gained through public sector, private industry, or volunteer work. Part-time experience will be evaluated proportionally to full-time equivalents.

Essential qualifications include one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent, directly relevant to this position. This experience must demonstrate your ability to analyze accounting operations for efficiency improvements, lead projects and teams effectively, and utilize advanced Excel functions for creating comprehensive spreadsheets, data compilation, and reconciliation tasks.

Additionally, if applicable, candidates must satisfy time-in-grade requirements, having served at the GS-12 level for a minimum of 52 weeks.
