Research Funding Specialist - Grant Writing Role in Toronto, ON

**Overview**

Alimentiv is seeking a skilled Research Funding Specialist to join our Medical Writing team in Toronto. This collaborative role focuses on securing funding opportunities for our medical R&D initiatives while supporting our strategic research objectives. You'll work directly with senior leadership to identify, pursue, and manage grant opportunities that align with our therapeutic focus areas.

**Responsibilities**

• Research and evaluate funding opportunities within our therapeutic areas of interest, ensuring alignment with Alimentiv's strategic mission and capabilities
• Partner with the Chief Medical Officer, VP Medical R&D, and senior leadership to prioritize the most valuable funding prospects
• Create compelling, tailored grant proposals that meet specific funder requirements and deadlines
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure complete, timely submission of grant application packages including budgets
• Oversee document review cycles, incorporating stakeholder feedback into revised proposal drafts
• Monitor submitted applications and respond to funding agency inquiries throughout the review process
• Identify SR&ED tax incentive opportunities and collaborate with Finance to prepare annual claims
• Maintain grant administration tasks including documentation, deadline calendars, and reporting requirements
• Support contract execution with funding agencies alongside project operations and legal teams
• Track grant budgets and verify expense eligibility in collaboration with operational teams
• Prepare comprehensive status reports for funders according to grant specifications
• Assist with additional medical writing projects including abstracts, presentations, and regulatory document reviews
• Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in research proposal development

**Requirements**

• Minimum undergraduate degree (advanced degrees preferred) with 4-6 years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated expertise in grant proposal writing, preferably in healthcare or life sciences sectors
• Strong project management and deadline management capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM (full-time)
